LatiNation Media has officially greenlit “The Dolls Review“, a groundbreaking digital series that marries runway styles with journalistic commentary on modern culture. The series originally developed as a popular segment within the legacy talk show “The Q Agenda” before expanding into a standalone YouTube series fueled by a growing fanbase and viral episode clips. While the program now operates with its own distinct digital identity, it continues to remain part of “The Q Agenda” for television broadcast purposes, bringing together four trans women of color to engage in candid, uncensored roundtables on topics ranging from disclosure and surgeries to reality TV.

The show was created and developed by Andrew Tamarkin and Curly Velasquez, greenlit by executive producers Andrés Palencia, Bruno Seros Ulloa, and Aura Quiroz; and stars TV personality Gia Gunn and actress Carolina Gutierrez as permanent hosts. Guest stars include Bambi Webb, Bay Davis, Alexandra Grey, Maria Roman, Chuchi Janes, Bamby Salcedo, Love Bailey, Josielyn Aguilera, and Christina Arias. The show is edited by Eddie Cardenas.
Gratitude from hosts and executive support
“What an amazing opportunity LatiNation has given me and my transgender sisters to speak our minds and hearts in a world where being trans can be a scarlet letter. We are not monsters, we are not evil and we are certainly not going to stand with discrimination, oppression, and transphobia. Transgender people are human beings and we deserve to live to the fullest and The Dolls Review is an extension and expression of that!” says host Carolina Gutierrez.
“I’m incredibly grateful to LatiNation for having the courage to give The Dolls Review a platform where trans women of color can speak openly, honestly, and from our own lived experiences. We don’t claim to speak for every trans person; we speak for ourselves. Meaningful conversations aren’t always comfortable, but they have to start somewhere. I believe there is power in allowing us the space to have them. And at a time when so many are hesitant to take that risk, I’m proud to be part of a platform willing to let our voices be heard,” says host Gia Gunn.
“Women of trans experience have long been trailblazers for the queer community, and we are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside trans women who are at the forefront of these conversations,” says Curly Velasquez, co-creator and the network’s VP of Development.
“The heart of this show is four trans women being honest in front of each other, which is a lot harder than being honest in front of a camera. Some of them are activists, some are entertainers, some are still working out what they believe. We do not hand anyone a position and we do not edit around the ones that make us uncomfortable. We are leading with their authenticity,” says Andrés Palencia, the CEO of LatiNation Media.

“In such polarizing times, it’s radical to host a round table with multiple points of view, especially within the trans and LGBTQ+ communities. This show breaks away from the queer mainstream where we must all align on a list of values we theoretically have as a community. The truth is: our identities live in grey area, and that’s what we’re highlighting here,” says Andrew Tamarkin, co-creator and producer.
