“La Durango,” the new single by Peso Pluma, Junior H, and Eslabón Armado

The combination of Junior H and Eslabón Armado’s talent and creativity with Peso Pluma’s unique voice creates an interesting sound that is both modern and timeless. “La Durango”’s traditional Mexican Regional beat, plus its inspiring lyrics, invite listeners to think about living in the moment, celebrating personal achievements, and appreciating the simple pleasures in life. This can be seen in the corresponding music video, where the trio cruise the streets in a Durango while contemplating the dedication and resilience that have helped them succeed.
This song is another hit in a series of successful collaborations between these artists. Peso Pluma and Eslabón Armado previously teamed up for “Ella Baila Sola,” which was one of the most-listened-to songs last year. Peso Pluma has also worked with Junior H on several other singles, including “El Azul,” “Rompe La Dompe,” “Lady Gaga,” and “A Tu Manera.”

Peso Pluma alongside Eslabón Armado even went on to preform the song on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” making him the first singer from his country to be invited to the show twice. Wearing an all-black outfit, he also talked with Fallon about his success in the music scene, the story behind his stage name, and his unique haircut. Fallon highlighted Peso Pluma’s achievements since his first appearance on the show, including winning a Grammy for the category of ‘Regional Mexican Album,’ which Peso Pluma described as a dream come true.
After the interview, Peso Pluma then took the stage with Eslabón Armado to perform “La Durango.” The singer also announced a tour visiting 35 cities, including Dallas, Houston, Denver, San Jose, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Tampa.
Who are Eslabón Armado?
Eslabón Armado is a regional Mexican group that was formed in California. They originally started as a trio in 2017- brothers Pedro (lead vocals) and Brian Tovar (bass), along with their friend Gabriel Hidalgo (guitar and backing vocals)– playing Sierra music and other regional Mexican genres like norteño and ranchera. They gained attention after sharing videos of their live performances on YouTube, which led to them being discovered by Ángel del Villar and signing with DEL Records.
In 2020, Eslabón Armado released their first singles, “Con Tus Besos” and “La Trokita,” which both made it onto the Hot Latin Songs list. Hidalgo left the group in 2020 after recording their first albums. In 2021, Ulises González joined as the acoustic guitarist, making them a trio again. That same year, they released “Jugaste y Sufrí” with DannyLux. In 2022, Damián Pacheco joined as the requinto player.
Altogether, the group has released five studio albums and received several awards, including two Billboard Music Awards, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, and two Latin American Music Awards.
