Coachella’s 2023 Lineup Will Include Many Top-Name Latino Artists

Coachella has become one of the biggest music festivals in the world. Every year, thousands of passionate, dedicated fans travel to the Valley in Indio, California to enjoy live music from their favorite artists and, this year, many Latino stars will be performing on stage.

In 2022, Anitta, Grupo Firme, Jessie Reyez, and Karol G, were some of the singers that brought the Latino spice to Coachella. Last year’s edition was the one with the most Latino artists ever, with more than 20 singers, doubling Coachella 2020.

Bad Bunny, Rosalía and Becky G – Coachella 2023

This year, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny was chosen as one of the three headliners of the event, making him the first Latino celebrity to achieve the distinction in the festival. Scheduled for two consecutive weekends, April 14th-16th, and then April 21st-23rd, Bad Bunny will lead the show on Friday, while BLACKPINK will close on Saturday, and Frank Ocean will lead on Sunday.

Bad Bunny first performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2019. His set featured a variety of his popular songs, including “Mía,” “I Like It,” and “Soltera,” and he also brought out fellow Latin artist J Balvin for a performance of their hit collaboration “I Like It.”

But Benito is not the only Spanish-speaking artist to arrive in this desert area this year. Becky G returns to Coachella after being Karol G’s special guest last year, when they sang their anthem “MAMIII” together. Now, she will have her own set at the festival. Her career has grown immensely in the past years, gaining recognition both in the Spanish and English-speaking music industries. And, although her fiancé Sebastián Lletguet’s cheating scandal may have caused her pain in the past weeks, her fans will be there to cheer her up.

Spanish superstar Rosalía will also bring the language to the stage as she will perform the most popular hits from her album “Motomami.” Recently engaged to Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro and taking the music world by storm, the singer is living a very special moment in her life. This is not the first time she has appeared on stage at Coachella; she made her debut in 2019 with the presentation of her album “El Mal Querer,” combining flamenco music with her own urban style.

Up-and-coming artists DannyLux and Conexión Divina will also be performing as the face of a new generation of Mexican music. DannyLux, whose real name is Daniel Balderrama, is a 19-year-old TikTok content creator and social media star, and the son of Mexican immigrants, grew up in the Coachella Valley and is making a name for himself in the music industry. Meanwhile, Conexión Divina is a group of three young Mexican-American women with a passion and vision that aims to leave a mark in the Latin music industry by using the Sierra style as an artistic way to represent their closeness to Mexican music.

Colombia will be represented in this year’s Coachella at the hands of Kali Uchis after also participating in the 2018 edition, where she presented her debut album ‘Isolation’ and shared the stage with J Balvin. The success of her song “Telepatía” allowed her to consolidate her career, which was already on the rise, and she is now heading back for more.

Puerto Rican urban artist Eladio Carrión will also be performing. The singer has been making a name for himself after the release of his album “3MEN2 KBRN,” which included collaborations with artists such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Future, Ñengo Flow, and Bad Bunny.

Other Latino representations at the festival will include Colombian-American singer and former Disney actor ¿Téo?, the half-Asian, half-Latina girl band The Linda Lindas, and Los Bitchos, a London-based girl group with South American cumbia vibes thanks to their Uruguayan keytarist Agustina Ruiz.

The emblematic Argentine rock band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs has also been confirmed. With a career now spanning 38 years, this band is one of the biggest names in Latin America, having innovated with many genres in the music industry. Although they haven’t sung live in their home country for five years, the band has performed a large number of shows abroad, especially in Mexico and the United States, where they had been invited to participate in different festivals.
