Beatles Little Girl: Where can you hear John Lennon’s unheard?

Beatles fans have been asking the same question since the surprise announcement of “Little Girl,” a previously unheard John Lennon demo that remained hidden for more than 60 years.

The short answer is: you can’t hear it yet.

Apple Corps has confirmed that the song will make its public debut as part of The Beatles’ Rubber Soul Special Edition, scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.

When will “Little Girl” be released?

The song will officially become available on October 2, when the expanded editions of Rubber Soul arrive worldwide.

According to the announcement, “Little Girl” is one of the previously unreleased recordings included in the new project, which also features fresh stereo mixes, alternate takes, home demos and studio sessions overseen by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell.

Which edition includes “Little Girl”?

Not every version of Rubber Soul contains the newly discovered Lennon demo.

The song is included in the Super Deluxe Edition, available as a 4-CD or 5-LP box set. That edition also includes:

  • A new stereo mix of Rubber Soul
  • The original mono mix
  • Previously unreleased session recordings
  • Home demos
  • An 88-page hardcover book with an introduction by Paul McCartney
  • A 7-inch “Day Tripper” / “We Can Work It Out” single in select box sets.

More affordable Deluxe and Standard editions do not include the full collection of rarities.

Can you stream “Little Girl” now?

No. As of now, “Little Girl” has not been released on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or any other streaming platform.

Although Apple has already shared “Michelle (Take 1)” as an early preview of the Rubber Soul reissue, John Lennon’s newly discovered demo remains unavailable to the public until the official release date.

Why is “Little Girl” such a big discovery?

Part of the excitement comes from the fact that almost nobody knew the recording existed.

Producer Giles Martin said the demo surfaced from the Lennon Estate during preparations for the Rubber Soul reissue and surprised even the team working on the project. Unlike many Beatles outtakes that had circulated among collectors for decades, “Little Girl” had never been bootlegged or even rumored to exist.

The recording features Lennon alone with an acoustic guitar and runs for approximately 2 minutes and 17 seconds, offering fans a rare glimpse into his songwriting process during the Rubber Soul era.

For Beatles fans, that makes “Little Girl” one of the most significant archival discoveries in years, ºand one they’ll finally be able to hear when Rubber Soul returns in its expanded form this October.
