 “El Rey, Vicente Fernandez”

In September, Netflix premiered “El Rey, Vicente Fernández,” a series based on the life, tragedy and success of the timeless Mexican icon, who passed away last year. Starring Jaime Camil, this show was produced by Caracol Televisión and tells the story of ‘Chente’ throughout its 36 fascinating episodes.

“El Rey, Vicente Fernández” takes you on a journey through the life and career of ranchera music icon Vicente Fernández, who undoubtedly stood out, among other hits, for the unforgettable song “El rey.” But since his career went far beyond just this hit, it’s interesting to discover his beginnings, his road to stardom, the last years of his life and the more intimate side of him, which includes the musical career of his son, Alejandro Fernández.

The show was directed by Fernando Urdapilleta, Conrado Martínez and Andrés Lizarazo and starred Jaime Camil (in the role of Vicente Fernández) and Marcela Guirado (Fernández wife, María del Refugio “Cuquita” Abarca Villaseñor). As the younger versions of Vicente and his wife, we see Sebastián Dante, Sebastián García and Kaled Acab, and Regina Pavón and Ishkra Zaval as the young Cuquita.

Without a doubt, Wednesday was one of the most anticipated premieres of the year and it has already reached massive success on Netflix. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega, it started streaming worldwide just last month.

Wednesday Addams, or Merlina Addams, as she is known throughout Latin America, is the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams, who leaves her family to tell us her own story.

The cast is made up of both new, young talents and some famous Hollywood legends. It features Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Victor Dorobantu as Thing. Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the ’90s film adaptations, also makes a comeback.

20 year old leading actress Jenna Ortega is known for her roles in You and Scream. To prepare for this new role, Ortega spent eight months in Romania playing Wednesday. In an interview for Teen Vogue, she revealed that playing the Addams’ eldest daughter affected her body posture and the way she spoke, due to the formal tone the young woman uses.

The series explores the high school years of the character and her supernatural powers while she attends classes at Nevermore Academy. Made up of seven chapters, it is a must-see for both lifelong fans of the Addams Family and those who are just discovering them now.

Snowflake Mountain

Snowflake Mountain is a reality show that was released on Netflix in June 2022 and already has followers and fans around the world. It’s fun, emotional and has a little touch of drama. The show follows a group of clueless young people at a survival retreat, where they must stay without having any access to technological devices, Wi-Fi and other so-called luxury items that they are used to using.

Netflix has described in an official statement that “It is a fun and affectionate reality show that takes a group of clueless children who are not yet living to their full potential and puts them to the test in a survival retreat.”
