Tini Stoessel: from Child Actress to International Sensation

In Argentina, Latin America and throughout the world she is known as “Tini,” but her real name is Martina Stoessel. While being mostly known as a singer, she is also an actress and composer. She has recently gained even more attention for dating Rodrigo De Paul, a player from the Argentine national soccer team that won the World Cup in Qatar last December.

In this article, however, we’re only going to focus on her internationally successful artistic career, which is growing like never before.

Martina Stoessel as Violetta

Martina “Tini” Stoessel was born on March 21st, 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and at just 10 years old she began her career as an actress. She participated in the Argentine children’s series called Patito Feo, but her international fame came in 2012 when she played Violetta, the lead role of the series with the same name created by Disney Channel, which told the story of a teenager with a very special talent for singing.

That same year Tini launched her debut album, “Violetta,” a soundtrack of 14 songs from the tv show. It was released in different cities throughout the world where the series was broadcasted.

A year later, in 2013, Tini released the CD and DVD “La Música Es Mi Mundo,” with new songs on the CD, and karaoke and sing-along videos on the DVD. Later that year, and after an extensive world tour, “Hoy Somos Más” was released, an album consisting of 13 songs.

Her career as a singer

Due to her growing success and talent, in 2016 the Disney label released “Tini,” her first solo album, now as Martina Stoessel. The first single was titled “Siempre Brillarás.” The following year her first dance single hit the charts, called “Ya No Hay Nadie Que Nos Pare”, which she sang together with Sebastián Yatra (who she’d later have a short-lived sentimental relationship with).

“Te Quiero Más,” “Princesa,” “Consejo de Amor,” “La Cintura” and “Quiero Volver” were some of her most popular hits from that time. Tini sang and collaborated with other artists such as Nacho, Karol G, Morat, Álvaro Soler, Flo Rida and Yatra, among others.

In 2018, Tini participated in the reality show La Voz Argentina as part of the jury, along with Ricardo Montaner, Soledad and Axel. During that same time that year she released her second solo album, “Quiero Volver.” The following year would be a particularly busy one for the singer. She participated in the Villa María Festival, in Córdoba (Argentina), together with Yatra, then she launched the single “22,” with Greeicy and Pablo Lescano and Kun Agüero appearing in the music video, and finally she was featured in “Sad song,” by producer and DJ Alesso. Also in 2019 she released the songs “Suéltate el Pelo,” “Oye” and “Fresa.”

Tini’s greatest songs and albums

2020 would see the young singer become even more successful. She filmed the video “Recuerdo,” where she sang with Mau and Ricky, and planned a European tour, which she would end up having to cancel due to the pandemic.

Not letting that stop her, however, she then released a string of hits, including “Bésame (I Need You),” “Duele,” “Un Beso En Madrid,” “Miénteme,” “Maldita foto,” “Tú no me conoces,” “La loto,” “Suéltame” and “El último beso,” with the participation of international artists such as Reik, R3hab, John C., Alejandro Sanz, Manuel Turizo, María Becerra, Lola Índigo, Danny Ocean, Becky G, Anitta, Christina Aguilera and Tiago PZK. And just recently she opened for one of the concerts that the British band Coldplay gave in Buenos Aires.

Throughout her career, Tini has accumulated more than 3.5 billion joint reproductions between audio and video, and continues to participate in concerts performed by the most talented stars of modern day Latin music. And she doesn’t appear to be stopping any time soon.
