Everything to Know Before Stranger Things Season 4 Release

UPCOMING
It feels like forever since we have been hearing about the upcoming release of Stranger Things Season 4 but alas, this Friday viewers may relish in relief and enjoyment as they will finally be reunited with the longtime fan-favorite series, and with a slate of brand new episodes. And it is about time! The anticipation has long been building, especially following the official release of the Netflix’s Original Series 4 trailer, and even more so after Netflix teased the public the first 8 minutes of the first episode.
UPDATE: Because of the rRobb Elementary tragedy in Uvalde, Texas Netflix is going to add a warning card to the Stranger Things Season 4 premiere. The Stranger Things Warning card is because the opening scene of the season shows violence involving children. The warning reads
“We filmed this season of ‘Stranger Things’ a year ago. But given the recent tragic shooting at a school in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of episode 1 distressing. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to every family mourning a loved one.”
That being said, we are all excited to watch (perhaps binge) the first 7 episodes that will be released May 27 and will undoubtedly eagerly await the release of the final two episodes that will premiere on July 1. But before we jump into the fun, let’s recap some of the biggest events as well as the most pressing questions that were left unanswered from Season 3.
I know it sounds crazy, but did Eleven really lose her powers? Is Hopper in Russia… and is he alive – does anyone know? Will Mike, Eleven, and the rest of the crew be able to come together during such uncertain times to rise above the challenges ahead?
SEASON 3 RECAP
Stranger Things 3 picks up in the summer of 1985, with the town of Hawkins, Indiana still trying to recover from the Mind Flayer’s attack. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) has closed herself off from her friends, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp), in order to train with Hopper (David Harbour) and hone her powers.
Eleven and Mike are now dating, while Will and Lucas have become close friends. Dustin has gone to science camp, leaving behind his friends and new girlfriend Suzie. However, despite being apart, the group remains close – they stay in touch via walkie-talkies and even conduct a secret operation to find out what happened to Dustin’s pet cat, Mrs. Whiskers.
However, Eleven soon discovers that the Mind Flayer is still alive and desperately wants revenge. All of a sudden, a new threat has surfaced in Hawkins: a mysterious Soviet laboratory, headed by Dr. Brenner (previously thought to be dead), has been conducting human experiments. Dr. Brenner, looking to harness the powers of the Upside Down, has been kidnapping people – including children – to test his theories.
With the help of her friends, Eleven must find a way to stop the Mind Flayer before it destroys Hawkins once and for all.
The Stranger Things 3 finale centers around Eleven and her friends as they try to stop Brenner and his experiments. They are joined by Hopper, who has been working with the Soviets in order to find out more about the Upside Down. Ultimately, they are successful in stopping Brenner and destroying the laboratory. However, the season ends in a state of uncertainty and worry as Eleven seemingly loses her powers and Hopper’s feeble state makes us question whether he is dead or alive.
These will be the Volume 2 of “Stranger things 4” released on July 1 which means Stranger Things 4 episode 8 and 9 will not be seen until then.
