The singer then unveiled details about his upcoming album, “Llamada Perdida.” He described the concept of the album, stating, “It’s the concept of decisions that we take in life, picking up a call, making a call, saying something you shouldn’t have said. Maybe not saying something you wanted to say.” He teased fans with the inclusion of voice notes and interactive elements, things that should have been left unsaid. “It is something very personal, things I went through in my life, very heartbreaking situations in my life. Like coming back from that heartbreak, superación, being strong, taking change as it is, becoming stronger.”

Marking his seventh album, “Llamada Perdida” is a two-year creative journey, his most personal and uplifting release yet. The album is a celebration of overcoming obstacles, particularly in love, and represents the end of a chapter in life and embracing the excitement of a fresh start. Llamada Perdida takes a positive approach to heartbreak and its aftermath.
The bachata album features 23 tracks, some of which include classical instrumentation like violins as a nod to his early days. Fans can expect to hear Prince Royce’s signature sound while also experiencing a new and elevated level of artistry on Llamada Perdida. The album is a testament to Royce’s growth as an artist, with more mature lyrics and a more self-confident sound. The songs are strewn together via voicemail messages, serving as interludes to certain tracks. “Some things are better left unsaid” (which is why the album is titled “Missed Call”)
Prince Royce Favorite Songs
When asked about his musical influences, Prince Royce revealed, “I listen to a lot of English music, like R&B, The Weeknd, Drake. I like Kygo and Deep House.” He expressed his dream of being an anonymous vocal on a beat, emphasizing his love for hard-hitting hip-hop, especially during his gym sessions.
Our interviewer, AK, asked the singer to form a playlist to reminisce about adolescence. Prince Royce shared, “’You Remind Me’ by Usher. I remember singing it to all the girls in school and having all the Usher albums on a CD player, and before the CD player, I had a bulky yellow cassette, a tape player that had rubber edges that you could drop.”

The conversation about music then turned into tunes to play when you are feeling lust or infatuation, which Prince describes as “aficiado” in his lingo. The singer remarked, “Any The Weeknd song. It’s romantic, but sexy, and dark. But then his voice is sweet”
When asked to pick a song to feel “super Dominican,” Prince Royce immediately named Juan Luis Guerra’s “El Farolito,” a track with deep cultural resonance. He chuckled as he urged listeners to search for it, emphasizing the nostalgia associated with the song.
The singer had to pick an anthem for the summer, and he highlighted Drake’s “Hotline Bling” as a revolutionary track that dominated parties and radio stations, becoming an anthem of its time. “I remember I was on tour blasting that song a hundred times on the tour bus. On repeat, when I get obsessed with songs, I just listen to it all the time,” he added. He revealed his tendency to obsessively listen to songs, citing The Weeknd’s “Is There Someone Else?” as his recent fixation.

Transitioning to his Bronx roots, Prince Royce shared a hilarious memory involving his wild cousin, a giant Yankee flag, and the song “Lean Back.”
“It was my 25th birthday, I was in Vegas. I got this crazy cousin, we all have one, we love him. But he’s nuts. So out of nowhere, he gets a huge Yankee flag, I don’t know from where, but I’m talking about a huge Yankee flag. He’s on top of the DJ booth and he’s like ‘happy birthday Prince Royce,’ and then he’s playing ‘Lean Back’ with no shirt on. And he has this craziest tattoo on his chest of an actual heart in color, like blood coming out the heart, that he always shows off. That’s love,” he recalled.
As the interview touched on the theme of missed calls, the singer talked about his own song, “Cosas de la Peda”: “Not only is it a great fusion with regional Mexican, but the concept is also the things you do when you’re a little drunk. And that could be anything. That could be a decision. That could be a call. They don’t pick up the call, get a drink”.
