Singer songwriter MARIPOSA and rising Brazilian creative FFLean have officially joined forces for their highly anticipated joint EP titled ‘MARILEAN‘, scheduled to release across all major streaming platforms on September 2, 2026. Designed as a lively four track body of work, the project draws direct inspiration from the vibrant nightlife of Europe, delivering a rhythmic experience that illustrates how music bridges different languages and cultural backgrounds across global communities.

Diaspora roots and artistic growth across Europe

MARIPOSA‘s unique sound and narrative style developed naturally through her upbringing as an immigrant child in the Netherlands. Born in Colombia and raised in Amsterdam, she spent her formative years immersed in a resilient multicultural community composed of international diasporas, an environment that provided rich inspiration for her lyrics and creative identity. As her career expanded, she connected with various independent creators across the continent, leading to a major milestone when she performed as the guest opening act for Puerto Rican star Young Miko in Amsterdam. Her performance earned acclaim from Rolling Stone En Español, which praised her ability to build an authentic worldview and claim space within male dominated genres.

The creative union with FFLean and the birth of ‘MARILEAN’

Through this expanding network of independent artists, MARIPOSA met FFLean, an exceptionally gifted Brazilian performer. The two artists quickly formed a strong personal and professional bond, connecting over shared immigrant experiences while channeling their distinct cultural perspectives into a unified creative vision.
