Lupita Infante’s favorite songs

Lupita curated a playlist reflecting her musical taste for various occasions. From nostalgic anthems that bring back memories to songs that make her feel “super Mexican,” Lupita’s are a perfect mix to make your day. The singer shared her favorites for moments of sadness, empowerment, relaxation, love, and even the perfect playlist for getting through finals.

Lupita expressed nostalgia for the days of burning CDs and mentioned her collection stored in a binder with plastic sleeves. Lupita reminisced about her own favorite songs during the early 2000s, citing “Just A Girl” by No Doubt and “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre as anthems that defined her childhood.

For feeling “super Mexican,” Lupita recommended the lively “El Jarabe Tapati o” by Mariachi Monumental de Silvestre Vargas. When in need of a cathartic experience, Lupita suggested her own song, “Ya Ni Me Acuerdo,” a piece that holds personal significance as her father used to sing it to her. To feel empowered, Lupita endorsed “Las Mexicanas,” her own collaboration with Erika Vidrio, Nena Guzman, and Grupo Emperatriz.

Lupita also shared her go-to playlist for calming nerves before a show, featuring anything by Ella Fitzgerald. In matters of the heart, she recommended “Por el Resto de Tu Vida” by Christian Nodal and Tini, describing it as a romantic favorite. Lupita’s study playlist during her UCLA days included Carla Morrison’s “Disfruto” and “Eres Tú,” resonating with the melancholy of Morrison’s sad songs.

For a personal touch, Lupita mentioned her homemade video on YouTube, “Este Diez de Mayo,” dedicated to her mother. The video, filmed on an iPhone during the pandemic, features her mom as the main actress and is not available on mainstream platforms.

Who is Lupita Infante?

Born Guadalupe Infante Esparza in California, Lupita is the daughter of Marisol Esparza and Pedro Infante Jr., continuing the legacy of her iconic grandfather, Pedro Infante. Despite growing up in the United States, Lupita chose to specialize in the regional genre as a tribute to her Mexican heritage.

Lupita’s artistic journey began when she participated in the reality show “La Voz México” after completing her bachelor’s degree in ethnomusicology at UCLA. She signed with Laura Pausini’s manager, and her debut recording, “Ya Ni Me Acuerdo,” marked the start of her professional career.

Advocating for women’s empowerment, Lupita’s album “La Serenata” was released in 2019, featuring northern and traditional mariachi songs. The album earned her nominations at the Latin Grammy Awards and the Grammy Awards in subsequent years.

In a recent interview with ‘La Mesa Caliente,’ Lupita discussed her latest album, ‘Amor Como en las Mujeres de Siempre,’ and expressed excitement about the project’s original songs. The granddaughter of Pedro Infante continues to make her mark in the music industry, drawing inspiration from her family’s rich legacy.

Lupita Infante, now a Grammy-nominated artist, is poised for greater recognition with her latest album, ‘Amor Como en las Películas de Antes.’ As she competes for the Best Mexican Music Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards, Lupita faces stiff competition from fellow nominees Peso Pluma, Ana Bárbara, Lila Downs, and Flor de Toloache.

Lupita Infante’s songs

The Mexican-American singer Lupita Infante presents her debut album with Sony Music Latin, “Amor Como En Las Películas De Antes.” This album is a heartfelt tribute to her Mexican heritage, culture and musical inspirations. The title “Amor Como En Las Películas De Antes (Love like in the old movies)” was inspired by Lupita’s admiration for the golden age of Mexican cinema. This new album is an eclectic mix of songs that honors both traditional and new Mariachi, breaking the generational barrier and making it distinctly her own all at once, while keeping the legacy of her grandfather, Pedro Infante.

In this album, Lupita Infante takes listeners through a journey to different musical eras. Beginning with the previously released track “Hazme Tuya,” Infante incorporates a modern mariachi sound and fuses that with sierreño elements. Co-written by her and regional Mexican artist El Komander, “Hazme Tuya” is a fun and flirtatious tune that has garnered over 2.5 million views on YouTube. Also previously released, “Besarte Así” is a romantic ballad whose lyrics inspired the album’s title.

Released with the official video of the focus track “Ya No Vuelvas,” ‘Amor Como En Las Películas De Antes’ has an array of emotional and uplifting new songs including two versions of “Pa’ Dentro.” Lupita Infante spiced up her repertoire by releasing this bundle of tracks in both Mariachi and Banda versions. Co-written by Ericka Vidrio, “Pa’ Dentro.”
