Flight disturbance and law enforcement questioning

The disciplinary measure against the 61 year old television personality follows a reported incident aboard American Airlines Flight 1276 travelling to Los Angeles in mid May. Passengers brought Thornton’s behavior to the attention of flight attendants during the journey, leading the aircraft captain to contact law enforcement personnel prior to arrival. Upon landing at Los Angeles International Airport, local police officers met Thornton at the gate to conduct formal questioning regarding the matter. The television announcer was subsequently released from custody without formal criminal charges or arrests recorded at the time.
