Jay Wheeler and Zhamira’s Fairytale Romance will Make you Believe in True Love

In a month that celebrates love, we have to focus on one of the IT Latin couples, who recently announced that they have got married. We are talking about singer Jay Wheeler and his now-wife Zhamira Zambrano.

The Puerto Rican artist met Zhamira, an upcoming Venezuelan singer, through Instagram many years ago. She was then dating another man, so even though Jay had an instant crush on her, he never made any advances. He even stated that although he was a famous singer, he didn’t think he would ever have a chance since she was so pretty.

As time went by, Jay started liking her pictures, but without being reciprocated. He even ended up unfollowing her for a while as he felt dejected. However, a couple of months later, Zhamira uploaded an Instagram story in which she answered a follower’s question, stating she was now single.

Jay took this moment as destiny and finally gained the courage to message her. After talking for a while, he invited Zhamira to see him in concert, where they finally met, but were unable to talk much. They then had their first official encounter at a friend’s party, where they stayed up talking until 10 am, even after everyone left. In an interview, he admitted he lied about having a lift after the party and ended up having to walk 15 minutes back to his hotel.

There was no going back- they had fallen for each other. After the party, they messaged every day, and she was the one to make up dates, inviting Jay to meet her friends. This was something he wasn’t comfortable with in previous relationships, but he stated that he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with her, so he had to get to know her intimate circle. After about three or four dates with her friends in tow, they finally started going out alone. 

Is Jay Wheeler Married?

The relationship advanced slowly since Wheeler was too nervous to make any advances. It was so visible that Zhamira initiated their first kiss because his hands were trembling. “I had to do it because you were never going to do so,” she said.

The couple made their relationship Instagram official in February 2022. Zambrano, who competed on the second season of Univision’s La Banda, later made a brief appearance in the official video for Wheeler’s “EaZt.” “I imagine you already know who I dedicate this song to. Zhamira, I am so lucky to have you,” he wrote in the caption of the post promoting the song.

Since then, the lovebirds have shared a number of touching moments on social media, including when Jay proposed to Zambrano at the Puerto Rico Coliseum in October. “She said yes,” he wrote in the post. The artist decorated the stage with a large cake covered with photos of them together, red roses, sunflowers, and a large sign that read “Marry me” as he waited dressed as a dinosaur.

Jay Wheeler and Zhamira Zambrano tied the knot at an intimate civil ceremony on December 21st, 2022. Wheeler shared the exciting news on social media with a video of his wife dressed in a light blue dress and singing “Dícelo,” the heartfelt collaboration they released together in August. Breaking tradition, he wore an orange jacket and beige pants. “I got married! I married the best woman in the world!” the singer can be heard saying in the background.
