Nicki Nicole and Trueno: Argentina’s Hottest Musical Couple

In Argentina, as in all of Latin America, there is a lot of talent, and specifically in the music world there are currently two musicians who are even making waves internationally. In addition to having their own amazing careers separately, they are also a couple that makes music together. We’re talking about the artists Nicki Nicole and Trueno.

Recently, the young musicians were on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, which defined them as the “Argentinian power couple.”In the article, both Nicki and Trueno talked about their music, their relationship and their vision about plans for the future.

Trueno, 20 years old, and Nicki, 22, are individually experiencing moments of incredible success and growth in their own musical careers. But when they’re together, they’re definitely explosive. These two stars of the urban musical genre are not only touring Argentina and its different cities, but they’re also performing concerts in multiple countries in the Americas and even in Europe.

In the previously mentioned article, the magazine breaks away from the traditional interview style and turns it into a kind of conversation between Trueno and Nicki Nicole. Both converse and reflect on the path they have ‘travelled’, both together and individually, and also talk about the present and the future.

Who are Nicki Nicole and Trueno

Trueno, whose real name is Mateo Palacios, was born into a family of musicians and singers, since his father is hip hop artist Pedro Peligro, who has been a great influence on his career: “I have shared stages with him for as long as I can remember. He is the one who taught me about the world of hip-hop and who shaped me in everything I am. All the rhymes that I live, all that I learned, I learned from Peligro.” Trueno first started out as a freestyler and considers that it’s not just music, it’s a lifestyle. He enjoys improvising rhymes, which he then uses as inspiration to write songs and perform them during his live shows.

For her part, Nicki Nicole, who was born Nicole Denise Cucco, talked about Trueno and the relationship she has with him. She said that she loves putting headphones on her boyfriend to “see how he reacts to a song. If anyone knows about music in this world it is him. I respect his advice a lot because I know he loves me, he wants the best for me in every song and as a person.”

The birth of a Love Story

Nicki Nicole and Trueno, the Argentine couple of the moment, met in 2020 while recording the video for “Mamichula.” In the song, they used the lyrics of the music as an opportunity to “indirectly” express what they felt for each other.

A few weeks after recording the track, the urban artists had their first date. From that moment on they have been inseparable. They have strengthened their love for each other through their music, and this affection has been witnessed by their fans.

The couple became engaged after three months of dating, and although she has asked him to wait a little while longer, their marriage seems to be  imminent. And yes, the ring exists.
