In the dynamic realm of Latin music, Shakira, the Colombian sensation, and Bizarrap, the talented Argentinian producer, have etched their names in history by shattering an impressive 14 Guinness World Records with their collaborative piece, “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” Released in January, this groundbreaking track not only showcased the synergy between the two artists but also set unprecedented records that resonate across various platforms.

The accolades began pouring in as the song secured the title of the most-played Latin music track on Spotify within 24 hours, amassing a staggering 14,393,324 plays. On YouTube, the music video racked up an astonishing 63 million views in just one day, making it the most-viewed on the platform in a 24-hour period. The momentum didn’t stop there; within two days and approximately 22 hours, the music video soared to 100 million views, marking the fastest ascent to this milestone in YouTube history.
A press release revealed that the list of accomplishments extended further, including the record for the most Spotify plays in a week, totaling an impressive 80,646,962. Shakira’s already illustrious career added another layer of distinction, bringing her Guinness World Record count to an impressive 17.
Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee
While Shakira and Bizarrap’s collaboration made waves, it’s essential to acknowledge the previous Latin music record holder, “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. In 2018, “Despacito” set a monumental benchmark by breaking seven world records, including the most weeks at number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, most viewed music video online, most liked video online, most viewed music video on YouTube (duet), song with the most streams worldwide, first YouTube video to reach 5 billion views, and the most viewed video on the internet. Despite still maintaining its status as the most-viewed musical video with 8 billion views, it was later eclipsed by the unexpected global phenomenon “Baby Shark,” which boasts over 13 billion views.
