Who is the Latin artist Bizarrap and why is he in the top lists

Gonzalo Julián Conde is surely known by his family and friends. But if we say that behind that name is the artist Bizarrap, it is very likely that the focus will be here right now. Because the composer and record producer born in 1998 in Argentina (in the province of Buenos Aires) is currently in the top 1 of Spotify thanks to the work he did with the Spanish artist Quevedo.

Also known by his abbreviated stage name, BZRP, he became popular precisely because of his great talent for performing the BZRP Music Sessions and the BZRP Freestyle Sessions, which he has developed with great artists from around the world and, especially, from the Latin scene.

In this sense, and returning to the most recent news, Bizarrap together with Quevedo are sweeping the musical scene of the European summer thanks –precisely- to the “Music Sessions #52″, which the Argentine producer made for the singer born in Spain, who was his special guest.

On BZRP’s social networks, we can see posts about how the smash hit “Quédate” from Music Sessions #52 was created and then recorded, which today is the most listened to track in the world.

“Three weeks in a row at #1 worldwide on Spotify. Thank you very much people for this immense support that you are giving to the song. Let’s go for more,” published Bizarrap.

In turn, “Quédate que la noche sin ti duele,” as Quevedo repeats in his chorus, entered an important ranking in the United States for the first time; the Billboard Hot 100.

The song entered in the 98th position of the list, a place that is determined by the number of streaming reproductions, and to put it in perspective, this ranking is not linked to radio stations in the United States, which account for a large percentage of the final score and greatly benefit Anglo-Saxon artists.

Thanks to the reception that the collaboration had in Spain as well as in Latin America, the song appears at number one on the global Billboard list. In turn, the session became the most listened to worldwide in streaming. “#1 in the world on Spotify. Thank you Quevedo, brother, for being part of this. I can’t believe it. Hang on Argentina! Thank you!,” posted Bizarrap on his Instagram account.

On the day of its debut, the song became the one to have the most accumulated reproductions in a single day on Spotify Spain, with more than 2.5 million, surpassing the previous record “Tú Me Dejaste de Querer” by C .Tangana, which reached 1.6 million views.

Why YouTube was about to censor Bizarrap video

Although it has already been solved, there was a problem with the video of the song. “Biza,” as it is also nicknamed, had to make modifications because it could affect the copyright of third parties. There, images appeared that could make “Quédate” have to disappear from YouTube.

In rights issues, the video platform is very clear and specific: it does not allow the use of content whose copyrights are owned by another person, nor music tracks, fragments of copyrighted programs or videos made by other users, without the necessary authorizations.

Bizarrap records his Bzrrp Music Sessions in his own studio and the videos, to be faithful to reality, they are usually quite simple. Generally, the singers who interpret the songs and the Latin producer are seen sitting on swords, in front of his computer monitor. And that is all.

But in this case of the production that he carried out together with the urban artist Quevedo, a television could be seen with images of a character from the Nickelodeon SpongeBob series. The image has now disappeared from the video so that it remains online and continues to add views exponentially.

Who is Bizarrap

Bizarrap is one of the most outstanding artists of the moment and who does not stop accumulating hits. This month Gonzalo Julián Conde will be just 24 years old and is already achieving fame not only in Latin America but also in the United States and Europe.

The young man started in music in 2017, when in his native country, Argentina, he uploaded edits of freestyle battles mixed with edits and remixes to the YouTube platform. These audiovisual works increased Bizarrap’s recognition in the local scene and he ended up participating as a producer of songs by artists from his country.

A year later, in 2018, he launched the so-called Freestyle Sessions together with Argentine freestylers such as Trueno, Sony, Kodigo, among others. In 2019 he published his first Music Session with the Argentine artist Bhavi, this would trigger a series of sessions with local and international artists such as Residente , Nicky Jam, L-Gante, Zaramay, Nicki Nicole, Cazzu, Nathy Peluso, YSY A, Bejo, Don Patricio, Anuel AA, Kiddo Toto, Paulo Londra, Tiago PZK, among others.

His greatest global success was, precisely, his collaboration with Residente, that occurred in March of this year. But also, his BZRP Music Sessions with the most views on the YouTube platform is number 36 with the artist Nathy Peluso.

BZRP in numbers

Bizarrap recently broke his own record by surpassing 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The artist became the most famous and successful producer in Argentina, but he is also transcending borders with his work alongside top-level international artists.

With trap, hip-hop and electronic music as his main genres, he makes productions that always manage to be successful and position themselves among the most listened to and the main rankings.

Both his BZRP Music Sessions and his Freestyle Sessions became so famous in the world that artists such as Quevedo, Nicky Jam, Residente, Nicki Nicole, L-Gante, among others, have already participated.

Gonzalo also had a stint at his college career, but he realized that a Marketing career, what he was studying,  was not his thing. So he decided to dedicate himself to music with all his heart and energy and, it is obvious, that his decision was very wise. Bizarrap knows how to play the synthesizer, the sampler, the turntable and the guitar.

Currently, the producer, musician and artist has more than 15 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and has more than 4.5 billion views. Surely, his success is just beginning. Good for Bizarrap, a big Latin artist!
