Cuban-American teen turns his football journey into a major NFL Latino honor

• Cuban American quarterback Edward Jordan IV named national winner of the NFL Latino Youth Honors.

Cuban American student athlete Edward Jordan IV achieved a monumental milestone for the Hispanic sports community by earning top national honors at the NFL Latino Youth Honors celebration. Selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars to represent the AFC South division, the talented quarterback navigated a competitive selection process featuring 64 high school nominees put forward by all 32 NFL franchises nationwide. Jordan’s exceptional play on the gridiron, paired with a stellar 3.94 grade point average at Beachside High School, secured his standing as a national recipient of the prestigious award.

Community leadership rooted in Cuban heritage

Jordan’s impact reaches far beyond his impressive game day statistics, serving as an inspiring model of academic dedication and cultural pride. While serving as a standout starting quarterback in Saint Johns, Florida, he consistently devotes time to mentoring younger athletes through youth football camps, freshman practices and turf management programs. Embracing his Cuban heritage, Jordan credits the core values of perseverance, family unity and hard work passed down by his relatives as the driving forces behind his leadership success on and off the field.

Super Bowl recognition and collegiate future

As part of his national victory, Jordan was awarded a 25,000 dollar college scholarship to support his higher education at Lafayette College, where he is officially committed to continue his football career. Additionally, the standout quarterback participated in exclusive Super Bowl week activities in California, engaging in mentorship sessions with active NFL players and league executives while celebrating the growing representation of Latino youth across professional sports platforms.
