Bevin Bru Breaks Barriers on CW’s Batwoman

Cuban actress, writer and fitness expert Bevin Bru is lighting up television screens across the nation on CW’s hit series “Batwoman” as Angelique Martin, Batwoman’s ex-girlfriend. The show is now in its second season, airing on Sundays at 8/7c, and was just recently renewed for another season as reported by Deadline.

Season 2 of CW’s “Batwoman” opens with the airplane crashing that Kate Kane was coming in on from National City. While her Batsuit is found by ex-con Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), Kate’s body is nowhere to be found. As her life was also affected by Alice, Ryan becomes the latest Batwoman to take up the mantle and protect the city from the evil villains lurking in Gotham and beyond. Bevin Bru brings to life Ryan’s ex-girlfriend Angelique Martin, played by Bru, a victim of the system. Angelique Martin’s years on the streets led this playful and savvy, albeit reckless, free spirit to a cushy life of crime, but you still want her in your corner when times are tough. Ryan and her ex share a deeper bond, more than just a complicated romantic past.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, Bevin fell in love with being on stage and acting at the age of 8 years old when she started doing community plays. From that point on, she had one goal, and that was to make it to New York City and Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of making it in the entertainment business.
