Eva Longoria to Direct ‘The Gordita Chronicles’ Comedy Series

The Gordita Chronicles, a comedy series loosely based on the life of show writer Claudia Forestieri, will officially be directed by multi-talented Latina, Eva Longoria, Deadline reported. The show is about a Latina journalist who thinks back on her childhood life “as a chubby, willful and reluctant Dominican immigrant growing up with her eccentric family in 1980’s Miami.” Foristieri has a long history of producing for Telemundo in Los Angeles, and will also serve as co-executive producer with Longoria for the upcoming HBO Max series.
Claudia Forestieri penned an Instagram post with the caption, “Somebody pinch me!” when she heard news that the pilot had been ordered to series. Aside from her duties at Telemundo, Forestieri has also written for Netflix’s Selena: The Series and worked on Freeform’s Good Trouble featuring Cierra Ramirez. She has received five Emmys and a GLAAD Media award for her work in the Latinx community.
The series is still in development, and there is no news yet about a premiere date or cast.
