Stephanie Nogueras of ‘Killing it’ Talks Diversity in Hollywood

From the creators of Brooklyn 99, Peacock is streaming Killing It, a dark comedy with a stellar cast, including Latina and deaf actress, Stephanie Nogueras.

Killing It features Craig, a divorced, kind-of-a-loser, single father who tries an out-of-the-box way to make easy money by hunting snakes.  As tempting as it sounds, things get wackier and crazier by the minute. The show is based on something that happens in Florida every year (of course, it had to be Florida), where you get to hunt the snakes that were once someone’s pet and now are cruising around with no natural predators except for the worst type; humans.

Stephanie plays Camille, Craig’s ex-wife, who is done with Craig’s broken promises and broken wallet (who can blame her?).

We got to talk with Stephanie about representation. In our interview, she emphasizes that the average number of deaf actors that are hired a year in mainstream shows and movies is one to two. Hopefully we can see change in the future, especially after this year’s Oscars. Check the whole interview soon on Get it Girl!
