Catch the Best of Spanish Cinema in Los Angeles and Miami!

Los Angeles and Miami join forces once again to showcase the best of Spanish cinema featuring virtual screenings, virtual conversations with filmmakers & talent and in-person screenings.
This year’s line-up underlines the rich variety of contemporary Spanish film. From the gritty social realism of AMA and thrillers ANE IS MISSING and THE HOUSE OF SNAILS to such lighter dark comedies, like CARPOOLERS or romantic comedies as THE COVER and POLYAMORY FOR DUMMIES, the series has plenty of broad appeal. There are also more artsy films such as MIGHT FLASH and wordless fairytale BABY. With such veterans as Fernando Colomo, Fernando León de Aranoa, Javier Bardem and up and coming artists, The Recent Spanish Cinema will not leave anyone indifferent.
In our conversation with Ainhoa Rodriguez, the director of “MIGHTY FLASH,” she explained the preparation for the movie, “I moved and lived there for 9 months so I could breathe the essence of that little southwest town I was going to depict.” As an audience, we definitely get transported and immersed in the lives of the villagers of a small town in Extremadura. The small town filled with very strong yet very subordinate women to the patriarchy, the audience saw all their lives. If you want to get transported from LA to a completely different environment, “MIGHT FLASH” is a must watch!
