Reese has taken another route. Carter publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2025, and Reese has since supported him openly while also making clear that loyalty and privacy matter to her. Her dating history has attracted plenty of speculation too, particularly around Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren, although Reese has denied that Duren was ever her boyfriend.

That history recently pulled Cunningham into Reese’s personal life. After Reese reposted a clip of Carter dunking on Duren, Cunningham questioned the move on her podcast and suggested Reese should “move on” and focus on her current relationship.
