Holistic Beauty Secrets with ‘The Skin Witch’ Emma Goodman

Step into the world of holistic beauty, where Chinese medicine, face mapping, holistic nutritional coaching, chakra balancing, energy work, and cranial sacral therapies all come together. In our latest episode of Esencia, LATV’s Latina wellness podcast, Katherine Castro had the pleasure of sitting down with Emma Goodman, an expert holistic esthetician affectionately known as “The Skin Witch,” to talk about holistic beauty and the secrets behind mindful skincare.
Emma’s reputation as one of Hollywood’s top estheticians is well-deserved, considering her unique blend of expertise. During our conversation, we discussed the importance of being conscious of what we put on our skin and the risks associated with toxic chemicals found in everyday items like deodorants, sunscreen, botox, and makeup.
As for the origin of her nickname, Emma explained, “I had a few clients over the years say it in a different form. One was like a skin wizard, skin sorcerer. And I asked somebody one time, and they just said, ‘Well, you know how I feel when I leave. It just feels like it was a magical experience.‘ And you use crystals. And you do energy work. And so there’s, you know, we coined it Skin Witch because it just was such a great name as a business.”
Emma’s holistic approach to skincare goes beyond what can be seen on the surface, incorporating techniques such as face mapping and holistic diagnostics. “Our skin is always communicating with us. We just need to learn the right cues. And I do that by face mapping. So different parts of our face are linked with different organ systems, different emotions. So we kind of read the body as a map through the skin,” she shared.
Katherine recounted that during a recent experience with Emma, she experienced a flood of brain activity and creative energy, thanks to her use of crystals and energy work. Emma’s goal isn’t solely to treat the skin; she aspires to regulate her clients’ nervous systems, grounding them amidst the chaos of everyday life.
Emma then addressed the significance of understanding the emotional roots of skin issues. “The root of the root of the root is always emotional. Really digging deep. So you can take any supplement. You could have this great diet, you could exercise, but if you don’t treat the emotion, you’re never going to get healthy,” she emphasized.

Is Botox Bad?
The conversation then turned towards the popular yet controversial topic of botox. Emma cautioned about the potential toxicity of botox and suggested natural, holistic alternatives like microcurrent therapy and vitamin infusions to achieve similar benefits without the potential downsides.
When asked about choosing the holistic route, Emma responded, “It’s all about authenticity. There’s plenty of doctors that make a lot of money. There’s plenty of holistic doctors that make a lot of money as well. But are you helping people? Are you inspiring people? And that matters more to me than the dollar.”
