Rihanna to Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023

Rihanna to Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023

We have official word from several different sources that Rihanna will be the headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show LVII. The date of the 2023 Superbowl is February 12, 2023, and it will take place in Glendale Arizona home of the State Farm Stadium. Rihanna will have quite a lineup to follow after last year’s Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre Eminem Emmy winning halftime show.

In true Riri fashion, the announcement was made with an iconic photo of her arm holding up a football. The post has since caught fire and was reshared by Roc Nation and the NFL who were quick to confirm.

The rumors about the halftime show started to bubble up when it was announced that the new sponsor to replace Pepsi as the official sponsor for the halftime show would be Apple Music. Now comes the fun part which is to speculate what Rihanna as a halftime show performer means for the artist who has had little time dedicated to her music since the launch of her Fenty fashion line.

New Rihanna Music 2023

One thing many fans are speculating about is if the halftime show will be only hits from her past or if it will include new music. Remember that the last music anyone has heard from Rihanna was when she released her multi-platinum album Anti, and supported it with a sold-out tour. Needless to say rabid fans of Rihanna are expecting to hear at the very least a new single come out around the date of the Super Bowl, which would mark the perfect return of Rihanna to the music scene that has been dominated by Latin artists since 2017.

Rihanna Super Bowl Co-Headliners

While Rihana hasn’t been putting out new music, she’s used the fashion shows for her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty lines to showcase and collaborate with the hottest artists in music. Of those that have appeared in her fashion shows, some of the rumored names to join her during half time are Bad Bunny, Rosalia, Lizzo, Troye Sivan or Frank Ocean.

While Rosalia and Rihanna at the Super Bowl Halftime would be an iconic collaboration, and it does kind of time pretty well with the Spaniard Rosalia’s current tour, there is nothing more than rumors that the two will be seen performing at half time. Perhaps it’s likely that Rihanna and Bad Bunny will have a halftime collaboration, but again it’s all speculation.
