RaiNao: A Musical Trailblazer Ready to Conquer the World

RaiNao, the up-and-coming Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, has been turning heads in the music industry, intriguing listeners with her genre-blending sound and raw, heartfelt lyrics. Recently featured in major publications like Rolling Stone, RaiNao’s unique musical journey is one that fuses her love for various genres with deeply personal experiences. Now, with her latest concept album she is ready to take her artistry to new heights, combining both music and visual storytelling to share her story with the world.

In an exclusive interview with LatiNation, Rainao opened up about the influences behind her music, her love for her country, and the friends who have inspired her along the way. “My friends and my country inspire me” she said. “They’ve shaped who I am, and I want to make music that reflects both the community I come from and the people who have been with me on this journey.”

RaiNao’s latest project is a deeply personal concept album that she says “came from her dreams.” The album, which includes a series of accompanying visuals, is unlike anything she’s ever done before. It wasn’t an easy process, the visuals were filmed in two weeks, “It was a very crazy two weeks” the singer explains, but was determined to create visuals that she believed in. Each song is tied to a specific visual representation, bringing her listeners into the dreamlike world she envisioned during the creative process. The visuals, much like her music, are deeply influenced by her personal experiences and relationships.

“I’ve always dreamed vividly, and this album is about bringing those dreams to life. I wanted the visuals to feel as surreal and intimate as the music” Rainao explained.

To bring this ambitious project to life, Rainao knew she needed the right director. After much consideration, she found a collaborator she believed in wholeheartedly. “I chose this director because I truly believed in them. I knew they could translate the vision in my head.”

In addition to the director’s vision, Rainao made sure that her closest friends were a key part of the visuals. “My friends are a part of the visuals, and that was incredibly important to me. They’ve supported me from day one, and I wanted them to be there with me in this project that means so much.” 

When discussing the what it means to be a queer artists she talked about the importance of representing queer musicians and staying true and authentic to herself through her song writing and visuals.

While Rainao is undoubtedly a rising star in the music world, her dreams extend beyond the stage. “I’ve always dreamed of being an actress,” she says.
