Polo Morín on TQA: “I want people to see me for who I am”

Mexican actor and heartthrob, Polo Morín, keeps climbing up on his professional career being part of one of the most successful series in Netflix, ¿Quién mató a Sara? (Who Killed Sara?).

In honor of LATV’s The Q Agenda new episodes launching this week, we’re sharing a sneak peek at an intimate chat with the actor, born Leopoldo Morín Garza, a.k.a. Polo, who has been part of outstanding series and telenovelas in his native Mexico, like Gossip Girl Acapulco, La rosa de Guadalupe, Mi corazón es tuyo, Sueño de amor,  among others, working with one of the most recognized Mexican telenovela producers, Juan Osorio.

Just ask the telenovela gurus in your family and they’ll give you the 411 on Polo’s trayectory.

Polo has been busy in the past few years as his career in entertainment has been heating up —he has definitely become a fan-fav!

In 2015, he won a Favorite Actor Award at the Kids Choice Awards México and in 2017 he won a TVyNovelas Award for Best Young Actor.

Polo bared his soul to TQA’s own Enrique Sapene about all things acting, his role on ¿Quién mató a Sara?, and even feeling fear about his career destiny after losing talent deals, contracts and the support of thousands of followers when he shared one of the most personal details of his life.

“As a public figure, I was really scared. I was just starting my career and I didn’t wanna throw it all away. But I was happy to do it because I felt that [at the time] I was achieving what I was achieving by being someone else. It came down to risking it because…if I was gonna be successful, and I was gonna have a career, be public and have followers, I wanted people to actually look at me [for who I am],“ the actor shared exclusively with LATV Network.

Looks like it all worked out in his favor. What was the response from his peers?

“It’s been a complete journey. I’m really happy and I’ve been getting a lot of surprises. Most of my followers on Instagram are still girls and they still love my characters, they still love what I do. Every time I post a photo with my boyfriend they’re like ‘you guys are so cute,’ which I love. That’s the way it should be. Love is just love and I’m just happy.”
