Peso Pluma’s First U.S. Tour and His Relationship With Nicki Nicole: A Summer to Remember

Peso Pluma has had a busy summer, both personally and professionally. The Mexican singer has been making waves in the music industry, with his regional Mexican music gaining popularity globally.

In an interview with Billboard, Peso Pluma reflected on the growth of his concerts, regional Mexican music’s future, and building a career like Jay-Z. The 24-year-old Guadalajara artist is halfway through his North American Double P Tour, presented by Live Nation, which spans some 40 dates. At the end of October, he will continue with his Mexican leg of the tour.

However, in the middle of his tour, Double P took a last-minute trip to Argentina to visit his rumored girlfriend Nicki Nicole. On his Instagram account, he posted a photo of an Argentine alfajor, then one with Nicki’s friend, Milo J. She then showed herself wearing the same sneakers as her partner.

On her birthday, Peso Pluma really stepped out there and gifted her a huge flower altar, while she was touring in Chile. “Happy birthday to me. Someone made me a birthday altar,” she posted on her socials, surrounded by a huge white roses bouquet. She did not mention who gifted her the flowers, however, a while later the Mexican singer reshared the story on his account and added: “Happy birthday, BB!”. After leaving cute comments on each of their respective Instagram posts, their relationship seems to be more than official.

Peso Pluma’s Songs

Peso Pluma’s music has been gaining popularity globally, with his name being attached to several monumental moments and historical metrics. He ranks as the No. 43rd most streamed artist in the world on Spotify, with three songs hitting the platform’s Top 50 Global chart. On that list, “Ella Baila Sola” is at No. 48, and Peso Pluma’s remix of Yng Lvcas’ “La Bebe” is at No. 31.

In fact, “Ella Baila Sola” has been crowned by Spotify as the Song of The Summer. With the summer drawing to a close, the platform crunched the numbers to find out which song ruled their global chart system for the summer of 2023. Topping the streaming platform’s list, with 367 million streams this summer, is Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s hit, the first regional Mexican song to have accomplished a long list of firsts for the latest booming Latin genre.

One of his new tracks, “Lady Gaga,” ranks at No. 19 in the Top 50 Global chart. The song belongs to “Génesis,” Peso Pluma’s recent album. Released just at the beginning of the summer, it stands at the 3rd spot on the Top Albums Global Spotify chart. Génesis has some recurring artists in its repertoire, such as Natanael Cano, Junior H o Gabito Ballesteros, but it has also provided some surprises, like his cousin Tito. Génesis contains 14 songs, although only four are by Peso Pluma alone.

His most recent release is “Bipolar,” a collaboration with Junior H and Jasiel Núñez. The new piece by the three references of the corridos tumbados is focused on heartbreak. And the video, directed by Fernando Lugo, portrays this feeling using shots where the artists sing to a young woman. With the summer almost coming to an end, Peso Pluma closed the Festival ARRE HSBC in front of more than 70,000 people in the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
