Paula White Invokes ‘Angels from Africa’ for Trump

The fact that Donald Trump has a spiritual advisor made me raise an eyebrow. The fact that his advisor started to do some sort of voodoo prayer the night of the election made me raise both!
In one of the many surreal episodes surrounding the White House, Trump’s spiritual advisor Paula White prayed for ‘angels from Africa and South America’ to cement Trump’s re-election. Those Gods, honey – if they existed – would definitely not vote for Trump, so maybe you should invoke other ‘Gods’ or spirits, more aligned with his speech and behavior, like the ones from the ‘Inquisition.’
“The Lord says it is done,” Paula White kept saying. Well, democracy says, “It’s not. We’re still counting the votes.” Then breaking off and apparently speaking in tongues, the evangelist then resumed her prayer in English: “For angels have even dispatched from Africa right now, Africa right now, Africa right now. From Africa right now. They’re coming here. They’re coming here. In the name of Jesus. From South America, they’re coming here, they’re coming here, they’re coming here, they’re coming here, they’re coming here.” Paula, they can’t come…remember? Trump denied their visas and built a (flimsy) wall.
While President Trump has embraced Ms. White and other controversial evangelical preachers like Robert Jeffress, notorious for his anti-semitic and Islamophobic pronouncements, in a bid to shore up support from conservative Christians in America’s Bible belt, the sincerity of his own religious convictions is open to question. We’re going to submit Paula to be next season’s star of The Bachelorette!
Stay tuned for more craziness from this year’s hit reality show, The 2020 Presidential elections.
