Daft Punk Breaks Up – The End of an Era

The electronic music duo Daft Punk broke up via an 8-minute video they posted titled “Epilogue.” The pair, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo who have been together for 28 years since 1993, have decided to split up Daft Punk. The news broke on Pitchfork where according to reports they were unable to get a confirmed reason for the breakup. The French house music robots made us all dance to their deep bass and out-of-this-world jams for decades.

Their latest mega-hit “Get Lucky” in 2013 reminded us all why these mysterious robots were the force to be reckoned with in electronic music. Their signature helmets made many fans wonder who exactly was behind the band for decades, but the internet spoiled that pretty quickly. Perhaps it was time for Daft Punk to explore new galaxies, or perhaps the internet will give us their real reason. Only time can tell when or if they’ll ever give life back to music.
