A Latino Leader Paving the Way for Minorities

A Latino Leader Paving the Way for Minorities

Latino USA reports that although Hispanic-Americans make up around 17% of the labor force, only 4% are company executives. There is a gap between Latinos in the workforce and Latinos in leadership positions wider than any other group in the United States, therefore, we need new companies and entrepreneurs moving the needle forward.

New York-based design agency, Keithcity Group, is paving the way with its leaders, Alejandro Corpus and Liz Yam, representing minorities.

Corpus, a first-generation Mexican-American, stands at the head of Keithcity as the founder and creative director and has played an essential role in the text message marketing platform Community’s Amplify program, which has supported many minority-owned businesses in Southern California.

Keithcity Group’s recent projects include Amplify’s homage to Hispanic Heritage Month, in which small Latinx business owners had an opportunity to text their audience directly, allowing them to build a relationship that will help their businesses grow.

Meet two of Amplify’s LatinX community leaders.

Keithcity designs, produces, and plans social media content for Amplify initiatives like this one. “We’re here to make sure that Community’s mission with Amplify is articulated well in the program’s social design,” said Corpus.

Keithcity has a significant job; without their efforts, the Amplify program might not reach its intended audience. Because this program is designed to help minority groups, including the Latinx community, Corpus proudly supports and works on Amplify.

Corpus could not have been more correct when he stated: “The mission is to amplify marginalized voices. That’s what’s important.” Although he was talking about Community’s Amplify program, it is a mantra to be remembered while rising to the top and breaking the glass ceiling in the Hispanic community’s workforce. With Latinx community members like Corpus in leadership positions, it is more likely for the voices in minority communities to be heard and motivated to reach for CEO positions they perhaps never thought were possible.
