The Argentine actress has already made a name for herself in both movies and TV, and her latest role in Netflix’s hit rom-com ‘La Dolce Villa’ proves she’s here to stay. Born in Boston on July 14, 2000, Reficco grew up in Buenos Aires with her Argentine parents. Although she was born in the US, she considers herself 100% Argentinian, since she has lived in the South-American country since she was four years old, and just travels for work.
Music and performing were always integral to her life since her mom, Katie Viqueira, is a well-known vocal coach who has worked with major Latin artists. Maia spent her childhood playing various instruments, jotting down song lyrics in notebooks meant for botany, and training in acrobatics for more than ten years.

At just 15, she made a bold move into professional music training by relocating to Los Angeles to study with Eric Vetro, the vocal coach who’s worked with big names like Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes. Her talent was clear, and it didn’t take long for Hollywood to take notice.
Her first important role arrived after she became the youngest actress to play Evita in the iconic Broadway musical, an experience that would change her life, and which led her to meet who would become her agent, Kevin Lin.

However, her big break came when Maia took on the role of Kally Ponce in “Kally’s Mashup,” a Nickelodeon show that connected her with audiences across Latin America. The series was a unique blend of classical music and pop, which struck a chord and led to a movie sequel and a hit soundtrack. However, Reficco wasn’t content with just being a kids’ TV star, since she had her sights set on expanding her career beyond Nickelodeon.
After Kally’s Mashup, she landed roles in Netflix’s “Do Revenge” (alongside Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke) and became on of the four main final girls in the HBO Max reboot of “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” as Noa Olivar, a role that solidified her as a rising star in Hollywood.

She also starred in “One Fast Move,” an action-packed thriller with KJ Apa and Eric Dane, which premiered on Amazon Prime in August 2024.
