The Lopez Family is Back: Our Favorite Characters from Season 3

The Lopez family is back, and Season 3 of Lopez vs Lopez promises even more laughs, heartwarming moments, and of course, plenty of family drama. The new season picks up where things left off, with George embarking on his sobriety journey and Mayan diving into wedding planning with her fiancé, Quinten.

This season, fans can expect the family to take on some big challenges—like navigating George’s path to sobriety, which adds a new twist to his relationships, especially with his best friend, Oscar, who also happens to be his pot dealer. Meanwhile, Mayan’s wedding planning becomes a major storyline, bringing Rosie and George back together as they pitch in with the arrangements. As you’d expect, their meddling creates plenty of hilarious and heartfelt moments.

The show also continues its tradition of featuring exciting guest stars, with appearances this season from icons like Rita Moreno, comedian Jeff Ross, and Brian Posehn. Plus, one episode is directed by Boy Meets World alum Danielle Fishel. Whether it’s through comedic chaos or touching moments, the Lopez family keeps proving that there’s no drama too big when there’s love and laughter involved.

With all these developments, it’s no wonder fans are counting down to Friday, January 3, 2025, when new episodes air on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, right after new episodes of Reba McEntire’s smash new sitcom Happy’s Place.

Plus, who doesn’t love getting to know the people behind the laughs? In our new LatiNation episode, our host Mike Alfaro visits the set of Lopez vs Lopez to present the cast with custom Lotería cards designed just for their characters.

Before we dive into the video, let’s take a moment to highlight some of our favorite characters from the show and what makes them so unforgettable.

George Lopez as George Lopez

George plays a version of himself: a dad trying to reconnect with his daughter, Mayan, after years of being apart. He’s a bit rough around the edges but always means well, even if his parenting advice is loaded with sarcasm. This season, we see George working on his sobriety while still bringing his signature humor. From running his moving company, Lop-E.Z. Movers, to getting involved in Mayan’s wedding plans, George’s antics keep us laughing and sometimes even tearing up.

Mayan Lopez as Mayan Lopez

Mayan brings warmth and heart to the show as she juggles her career as a veterinarian, motherhood, and dealing with her dad’s sometimes chaotic presence. Her patience and determination are especially evident as she plans her wedding to Quinten. But let’s be real: it’s her playful back-and-forth with George that really steals the show.

Rosie (Selenis Leyva)

Rosie, George’s ex-wife and Mayan’s mom, is the practical force keeping everyone in line. She’s got a sharp wit and isn’t afraid to speak her mind—especially when George is involved. Whether she’s helping with the family biz or diving into the wedding-planning madness, Rosie’s interactions with her family are both dynamic and relatable.

Quinten (Matt Shively)

Quinten is Mayan’s boyfriend and the father of their son, Chance. He’s the calm in the storm of the Lopez family drama. Despite George’s endless teasing, Quinten takes it all in stride. His easygoing nature makes him the perfect balance to Mayan’s intensity and George’s larger-than-life personality.

Chance (Brice Gonzalez)

Chance might be the youngest member of the cast, but he’s got some of the funniest lines. As Mayan and Quinten’s son, he’s both innocent and hilariously blunt—just like kids are. It’s no wonder his sharp observations have such an impact on George.

Oscar (Al Madrigal)

Oscar, George’s best friend and employee at Lop-E.Z. Movers, brings his own charm to the mix. This season, his role is especially intriguing as George’s journey to sobriety changes their friendship. Expect plenty of laughs, but also some heartfelt moments between these two.

Don’t miss new episodes starting Friday, January 3, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. And be sure to check out the Lotería card surprise in the video—it’s a fun twist you won’t want to miss!
