Lele Pons: from Vine Star to Mrs. Guaynaa

Lele Pons and Guaynaa just tied the knot early this month in a fairytale-like wedding filled with several Latino celebrities, whose pictures and videos were widely shared all across the internet. Although he is a big name in the industry thanks to his chart-topping songs, Lele has also been around for quite a while.

Lele studied music and also had a career in Communications. But she began her career at 13, when she started making comedy content for the extinct social media app Vine, to battle bullying. Over time, she gained more and more fame and became the first and only person to reach a million followers on the platform. After the app came to an end, she migrated to other digital spaces and managed to connect with other artists of the moment.

Today, she has almost 52 million followers on Instagram, 30 million on TikTok, and 18 million on YouTube. She has stated that, among her inspirations, are several female Latin American stars such as Sofía Vergara, Gaby Espino, and Shakira.

Once she established herself as a content creator, she then introduced herself to the music industry. Some of her hits have more than 400 million views, such as “Se Te Nota,” her first song with Guaynaa. “Piketona,” her most recent song with Kimberly Loaiza, one of the Mexican singers and influencers of the moment, amassed almost 50 million views.
In 2016, she published her book “Surviving High School,” where she addressed the bullying she suffered and how working at Vine helped her escape from it. She walked a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Milan, where other Latin celebrities participated as well. She has also dabbled in business, acting, podcasts, and even giving influential speeches.
How did Lele Pons and Guaynaa meet?
The newlyweds met in 2019 while filming a music video “with a friend,” Guaynaa told People en Español. He said that the attraction was immediate. However, Lele admitted that she had been obsessed with Guaynaa even before that, to the point of doing “even the impossible” to attract him into her life.
“I became obsessed, I became obsessed with winning him. I called Sebastián Yatra and told him ‘Sebastián, I want you to have private parties at your house and invite him'”, she said.
They finally met at a party hosted by Becky G.
After that, Lele invited him to record the song “Se Te Nota” together, and the rest is history. They made their romance official at the end of 2020. After more than two years of dating, they got engaged on July 31st, 2022, on the Tomorrowland festival’s stage.

The singer danced the famous waltz to one of her uncle Chayanne’s songs, before changing the mood to a more traditional Latino-style wedding. Because of the sheer number of famous artists present, the wedding was lit up by live performances of songs like “Sin Pijama” by Natti Natasha and Becky G, Sebastián Yatra and Guaynaa’s “Chica Ideal” and, obviously, the newlywed’s “Se Te Nota.”
