Christmas Again? The Powerful Latinas Behind Disney’s Latest Holiday Movie

It’s the most wonderful time, of the year…says the song. However, that’s not true for everyone. For Rowena (Scarlett Estevez) this year Christmas is her worst nightmare. Her parents divorced and now her dad has a new girlfriend that she doesn’t like; she wants her life back the way it was—her parents back together, her dad’s new girlfriend and son out of the picture, and their family traditions to remain the way they were. So she makes a wish to a neighborhood Santa for a “do-over” and unexpectedly finds herself reliving Christmas day over and over … and over again. Because “what you resist, persists,” or as mi abuela would say, “no querías caldo, ten taza y media”.
Now, in order to break the strange magical loop, Ro must learn to appreciate her loving family as it is, as well as the true meaning of Christmas.
We got to talk to Scarlett Estevez and Alexis Carra about what makes Christmas special and what is the meaning of Christmas for these two wonderful latinas. Check it out!
