LATINAFest Is Back in LA and It’s Bigger Than Ever

LATINAFest Is Back in LA and It’s Bigger Than Ever

Get ready, LA. The 7th Annual LATINAFest is happening June 1st at Gloria Molina Grand Park, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

LATINAFest is the largest Latina festival on the West Coast. Founded by award-winning journalists Bel Hernandez Castillo and Naibe Reynoso in 2018, this event is all about celebrating, uplifting, and empowering the Latina community. Their mission? To promote unity, diversity, and economic inclusion, and to put the Latina voice front and center.

We are proud to be part of it. AnaKaren Lopez and Mike Alfaro, hosts of Cultura Shock, will be moderating panels, and Katherine Castro, host of Esencia: Latina Wellness, will lead a special morning yoga session.

In the special interview with us, co-founder Naibe Reynoso explained, “Latina Fest started in 2018, so we’ve been at it for so many years now. We wanted to create a festival that embraced Latinas, that highlighted Latinas, that put us front and center, a place where all families, multi-generations could come and enjoy not only our food, but also our speakers, what we have to offer as a culture and a lot of inspiration.”

This year’s theme is “Legacy”. Bel Hernandez Castillo shared, “We picked legacy as our theme because, us Latinas, we have contributed so much to the U.S., our ancestors have contributed, and we want to honor that legacy of who we are, what we have contributed, and where we are bringing value to this amazing country that is the U.S.”.

Even though it’s called LATINAFest, everyone’s welcome. “Whether you know a Latina, love a Latina, or want to be a Latina, come to LATINAFest,” Naibe said. “There’s gonna be food, empowering speakers, motivational talks, there’s gonna be music, and a lot of small business owners selling their unique and beautiful products. We also have an author’s corner, food trucks… It’s endless what you can find at LATINAFest.”

This year, LATINAFest is moving to Gloria Molina Grand Park in downtown LA: a larger venue named after a true trailblazer. Get ready for morning yoga, a cocktail garden, an authors’ corner, workshops, vendors, keynote speakers, live performances, and a grand celebration of culture, family, and community.

Bel added, “Since our beginning, it’s always been Latina Fest, a celebration of everything Latina. So it’s a multi-generational, bilingual, bicultural event that is something you do not wanna miss.”

This year’s workshops are off the charts: Reiki and Sound Bath sessions, Candle Making with Culture, and Cartas de Poder, a vision board class inspired by Lotería. And you definitely don’t want to miss the music. “We’ve got Las Chorizeras,” Bel mentioned, “If you haven’t heard of this group, it’s an all-woman group. They are mariachi, they sing rancheras, boleros, cumbias, and we are initiating what will be, in the future, a concert. But this is our mini-concert. It’s Las Chorizeras, and you don’t want to miss them. They are fabulous.”

Naibe added, “This is our seventh year. Number seven is a lucky number. It’s bigger and better than ever. So come on and explore and engage and experience the beauty of Latinidad at LatinaFest.”

June 1st is going to be a day to remember. Bring your family, your friends, your energy, and your pride. LATINAFest 2025 is coming!
