Kendall Jenner Accused of Cultural Appropiation

Have you ever seen Kendall Jenner wearing Mexican braids? Me either, until she started to sell her tequila. The 25-year-old model is facing accusations of cultural appropriation – again – and this time around, it’s over the new ad campaign for her very own 818 Tequila.
Here’s the thing…someone (or everyone) on Kendall’s marketing team straight up hates her and it’s officially getting petty. They are making her pay for whatever she did while the whole world watches – AGAIN. Remember when she handed a cop a can of Pepsi and solved racism? Now she’s riding horses conquistadora style while hard working farmers are wondering what an NDA is and why they had to sign it.
Sharing the content on her personal Instagram page about her experience in Jalisco, Mexico, Jenner made note of the “incredible experience I have had thus far, learning about this beautiful place, its beautiful culture, and the beautiful people!”
Throughout the ad, which features Jenner riding on horseback among rows of agave plants and sipping tequila on the back of a pickup truck, the runway pro wore jeans, a cowboy hat and a loose cotton shirt over a tank top – a look some have upsettingly referred to as “migrant chic.”
And while she has a right to sell tequila or whatever she wants, she needs some work on the execution. Kendall – please fire your marketing team.
