Kat Echazarreta on The First-Job Skills She Learned for Life | Exclusive

Did you know that the first job you ever had will have an impact in your life forever?
Well, if you’re familiar with Kat Echazarreta, the first Mexican-born Latina to go to space, you’ll know that she’s always been close to her roots and has proudly always shared her journey from her beginnings. Kat’s first job was at McDonald’s, which introduced her to new skills and taught her how to get out of “her shell,” as she has shared before.
Our Pinkafé hosts, Carolina and Natalia Trejos had the opportunity to chat with Kat during the first ever McDonald’s Hiring Week.
“I remember that when I first started, I was very shy —such a shy person and it really forces you to be more outgoing. First of all you’re talking to strangers, sometimes they’re happy, sometimes they’re not. It also really teaches you to navigate emotional situations,” she shared during an interview with Pinkafé. “Working at McDonald’s comes with many great perks, like educational assistance, a flexible schedule, and the opportunity to learn both career and life skills,” she added. Stay tuned for the full interview soon!
Hiring Week will take place from Monday, October 17 through Sunday, October 23 across hundreds of McDonald’s restaurants in Southern California.
