Jade Catta-Preta Is What Stand Up Comedy Needs

Jade Catta Preta is, simply put, one of the baddest women in stand-up comedy. The former host of E!’s The Soup and Comedy Store regular is ready to set out on a new era in her burgeoning entertainment career: as an established comic who won’t back down to party-poopers.

Recently, Jade joins her homie (and probable half-brother), me (Humberto Guida), for an unforgettable installment of the Checkitow Podcast. On this special episode we wax philosophical about the state of comedy, the old days when we put on a very unique live sketch comedy show together called “The Daydreamers Sketch Show” for the Los Angeles Comedy Festival, and the issues she has had with online trolls, especially as it pertains to a woman who can’t help but own her sexuality and who refuses to hide it.

Jade has used a few social media posts to liberate herself, her insatiable energy, and sometimes her beautiful figure (there has been the occasional, fun, “cheeky” butt pic…she is Brazilian after all), only to be met with a few loud and obnoxious trolls in the comment section (though the majority of the comments are often lauding, supportive, and totally into her energy). Many of those trolls are male incels trapped in their mom’s basement, but along with them are the occasional busy body ninny-nanny women who don’t particularly take to Jade using her physical gifts as well as her talent to get her audience excited. Apparently they think it’s the wrong move to express your sexuality…and it bothers the f*** out of Jade (and me too).

We talked about all that and more, click on the episode below:
