Demi Lovato and Jutes Are Officially Married

Demi Lovato is officially married. The Grammy-nominated artist tied the knot with singer-songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes this past weekend in California, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a relationship that has been years in the making. From co-writing tracks in the studio to walking down the aisle, Demi and Jutes’ journey has been full of music, love, and a lot of laughter.
Let’s rewind a bit. The couple met back in January 2022 during a writing session for Lovato’s album Holy Fvck. It wasn’t instant romance. In fact, Demi admitted on the LadyGang podcast that she was completely thrown off when she first saw Jutes.
“I texted my friends and was like, ‘Oh my God, the hottest guy just walked in. I am so nervous. I don’t know what to do with myself,'” she said. It took a couple of months before things became romantic, but the connection was there from day one.
Their creative chemistry turned into love. Jutes co-wrote several tracks on Holy Fvck, including “Substance,” “Happy Ending,” and “City of Angels.” Not long after, in August 2022, the two went public. A source told PEOPLE at the time, “It’s a really happy and healthy relationship. He’s a super great guy.”

By December 2023, Jutes was down on one knee. In what PEOPLE described as a “personal and intimate proposal” in Los Angeles, he proposed with a pear-shaped diamond ring designed with help from Material Good’s Teresa Panico. Lovato said yes, and they both made it clear that they weren’t going to rush the big day.
“We’re not trying to skip engagement to get right to wedding,” Jutes told PEOPLE. “We’ll be married forever. We just want to enjoy every step.”

And enjoy they did. The couple finally said “I do” around 4 p.m. on Sunday in a dreamy ceremony in California. Demi walked down the aisle in a stunning pearl white Vivienne Westwood dress made from heavy silk satin, featuring a corset bodice and draped detailing inspired by high society fashion from the 18th century and ancient Greek statues. Her veil was cathedral-length, custom-made ivory tulle.
The reception brought another outfit change: an ivory silk satin column dress, also by Vivienne Westwood. This second dress featured a draped corset and broken pearls cascading from the neckline, inspired by the golden age of cinema. Jutes wore a Saint Laurent suit paired with David Yurman and Spinelli Kilcollin jewelry.

The night before, they held a rehearsal dinner with their closest friends and family. Longtime planner Mindy Weiss helped run the show, making sure the bridal party had everything in place. After the rehearsal, the group gathered for an intimate dinner before calling it a night.
Demi has never shied away from expressing her love for Jutes. In a Valentine’s Day Instagram post earlier this year, she wrote, “Jordan, I cannot WAIT to marry you!! The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life and I have you to thank for that… I’m obsessed with your heart, your love and your light. I can’t wait to grow old with you and start a family together.”
That feeling is mutual. On Demi’s birthday last year, Jutes posted on Instagram: “Your heart has changed lives all over the planet… especially some dude from a farm in Canada who wound up in your session over a year ago. I didn’t know the perfect person existed until I met you.”

In her interview with PEOPLE in September 2024, Demi said, “I’ve waited my whole life for him. It’s very grounding to have a partner that is so supportive, so loving, so caring. It’s very easy to stay centered with him because I love him so much and he treats me so amazing.”
Their relationship is filled with laughter, too. In an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” Demi said, “He has the best personality. We laugh nonstop… if you can find someone that makes you feel safe, that you’re so attracted to, that you laugh with constantly, that’s the formula of a really great relationship.”
Now, Demi and Jutes are stepping into married life with the same energy they’ve had since day one: creative, grounded, and full of joy. And with this chapter just beginning, there’s no doubt more love (and probably some great music) is on the way.
