LATV Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with The Latino Alternative Movement

For Hispanic Heritage Month we are redefining culture with you by our side and launching THE LATINO ALTERNATIVE MOVEMENT (L-AM). Here’s a sneak peek at some of the content we’re preparing for you for this month.

LATV’s September Agenda is filled with Latinx celebrations and your favorite shows will be talking about the Latino influence, traditional outfits, diversity, tribute, pronouns, special guests, and more. 

The Zoo: The evolution of the words Latino, Latinx, and Latine and why HHM starts in the middle of the month —from mid September to mid-October. Plus, special guest Levi Ponce discusses the impact of Latino influence on street art. 

The Q Agenda: Will feature special guests Roman Navarrete, editor of Hispanic executive magazine, Monica Tresandes, Director of Programs, Spanish-language and Latinx Media at GLAAD, and, our own executive co director Andres Palencia joins us on set.

Blacktinidad: Features an interview with Afro-Latina comedian Suni Reyes.

American Latino: Special segment on fashion designer Cenia Paredes, beauty expert Jonathan Fernandez, Media maven Davina Ferreira and a tribute to the late Sebastian Morel-Ferreira.

En Concierto: Features an intimate acoustic concert grand finale recorded at the LATV studios.

And we continue to focus on culture, LGBTQ and women empowerment.

Get it Girl:  Fitting the Latina Mold: What’s your definition of Latinidad and how that is different from your parents’?

Pinkafé: Talks about traditional Latino folkloric outfits, the evolution and inclusivity of Latino fashion designers and a tribute to Gloria Estefan, Selena, Shakira, JLo and more who opened the doors for Latinos in the U.S.
