The Cast of Get it Girl Talks What Being “Latina” Means to Them

Whether you are an immigrant or a U.S. born Latina, it’s very probable that you have been told how you should look, speak and act. However, Latinos/as or Latine (a new term that is beginning to replace latinx) come in all shapes, sizes and backgrounds, and it can be a bit frustrating when you are told “you don’t look Latina enough.” What does that even mean?

Well, our girls Artifex, Yanina and Stefani, three very different Latinas, discuss in this Hispanic Heritage Month special what being Latina means to them, and how the new generation is making an impact. In this episode, they are joined by Venezuelan actress, writer and producer, Zair Montes, who, also tired of not fitting the “Latina mold,” created her own production company and wrote her own stories. Her latest movie, Rumba Love just premiered on September 24th of this year.
