Everything’s Gonna Be Okay’ Canceled after 2 seasons

Creator and Executive Producer Josh Bridges announced on his Twitter account that ‘Everythings Gonna be Okay’ is canceled after two seasons and twenty episodes. He never said if it was him who did not want it to continue, all in all Freeform decided not to renew the contract. Though viewership for the series declined in season 2, the series is still one of the best examples of representation and visibility not just for queer characters and actors, but for stories around people with disabilities as well. So many fans are also feeling like there will be one show less that is making diverse characters and their stories a part of our streaming universe.
Bridges went on to thank the cast and crew who worked with him for the project. He tells them that if they wanted his recommendation for future job opportunities, he would be more than happy to give it to them. He continues how he loved every bit of making the show with them and he would not mind doing it all over again in a heartbeat.
The ‘Everythings Gonna be Okay canceled’ news caught everyone by surprise since the show was doing well. In fact, Freedom did not hesitate to renew Season 2 for the show. The last time they were asked if they were going to renew the show, they said that if there was more story that was going to be told then they would not mind renewing it. The show follows Bridges’ character Nicholas who goes through some ups and downs as he movies into Australia to take care of his half-sisters after their father becomes terminally ill. Nicholas meets Alex and the two develop a romantic connection with a few surprising twists along the way that we aren’t going to reveal. The story is so heartwarming that a lot of people are able to relate to the romantic chemistry that the two had.
Bridges did say he hopes to continue to work on more projects so it looks like his career is going to continue. He will certainly not let a small setback such as this stop him from accomplishing his dreams in the business. The drama also stars Adam Faison, Maeve Press, and Kayla Cromer. It is evident it would just take a couple of days to finish both seasons and appreciate what Josh Bridges brought to the table. It is such a feel-good show that taught many lessons in life many people were not too aware of.
