The 28 year old mother chose transparency to teach her children that material comfort should never replace honesty.
During a press conference for the new documentary film titled Musk at the Venice International Film Festival, Ashley St Clair revealed that she was offered $40 million to remain silent; the 28 year old media figure, who is the mother of the tech billionaire’s 13th child, declined the buyout offer to participate in the four hour project directed by Oscar winner Alex Gibney. Examining political power and empathetic boundaries
The documentary centers its investigation on the billionaire’s growing leverage over American political dynamics. During the promotional appearance, the former Turning Point USA ambassador offered candid observations about her former partner, stating that his most complicated relationship is with the truth. Director Alex Gibney described the SpaceX founder as a figure who struggles significantly with cognitive empathy, a characterization that St Clair affirmed by noting a deliberate rejection of putting himself in other people’s positions.
Shifting personal views and custody proceedings
The pair connected online in 2023 before welcoming their child the following year. In recent times, St Clair publicly recanted her previous conservative commentary, issuing apologies for past remarks and expressing a commitment to supporting transgender individuals. Her public change in perspective prompted the entrepreneur to petition for sole custody of their child, citing concerns regarding parenting choices. St Clair emphasized that taking the risk to speak out serves as a step toward taking accountability for past public statements.

Global festival debut and upcoming release
The film made its official debut at the Italian festival ahead of a scheduled theatrical rollout set for mid October. Although representatives for the billionaire labeled the project as misleading, the documentary team proceeded with their planned presentation to international audiences. St Clair’s participation stands out as a core narrative element of the documentary, establishing a high profile instance of a personal story taking precedence over a corporate settlement offer.
