International football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodríguez spent their summer family getaway on the island of Mallorca, Spain. The couple stayed at the historic Castillo de Manresa, an expansive private estate covering more than 26 acres (106,000 square meters) along the coastline of Alcúdia. Having previously stayed at the compound in 2021, the family returned to the 300 year old coastal property to take advantage of its secluded positioning, security infrastructure and direct views overlooking the Bay of Pollensa.

Military history and architectural transformation
The roots of the fortress date back to 1715, when the Marquis of Rubí commissioned its construction to defend the northern coast of Mallorca against potential British naval incursions from nearby Menorca. The site maintained its strategic role for over a century before losing its military utility in the late 1800s, at which point it was auctioned off to private owners. Following a brief period of military use during the Spanish Civil War, the estate underwent a comprehensive redesign in 1997. The renovation project converted the historic stone defense points into a modern private luxury compound while retaining its original architectural character.

High end amenities and rental valuation
The central residence spans 6,400 square meters and includes seven large guest suites with private bathrooms, open plan living spaces and floor to ceiling windows facing the Mediterranean Sea. The interior design pairs natural stone features and exposed wooden beams with contemporary furnishings. Outside, the grounds feature landscaped gardens, an outdoor swimming pool with surrounding sundecks, tennis courts and equestrian facilities. The location also provides direct access to nearby beaches and the Port of Alcúdia. When released onto the luxury vacation market, booking the entire estate costs approximately 12,000 euros per night.
Mallorca as a premier summer retreat for elite athletes
In recent years, the Balearic island of Mallorca has grown into a favored summer destination for top tier athletes and high profile figures seeking privacy. The island offers a combination of deep water ports for private yachts, secluded coastal access and ultra private estates that limit public visibility. For Ronaldo, the quiet retreat at Castillo de Manresa provided a brief period of relaxation before returning to training camp duties for the upcoming competitive season.
