Cafeteria Manager Passes Citizenship Test, Whole School Celebrates

Prairie Valley Elementary school burst into celebration when Yanet Lopez, the cafeteria manager of the school officially passed her citizenship test. The viral moment was first reported on by Edmond, Oklahoma’s Fox affiliate. This is just one of many feel-good moments and great news that have come across our feed lately. 

On the Facebook page for the school, the principal Michelle Anderson wrote, “Every morning Ms. Yanet walks into the office and proclaims ‘Good Morning, Pretty Ladies’ and with a smile and a laugh she always starts the day with a positive message!” 

This reminds us of so many elementary school staff and teachers who make a difference in the lives of kids every day and often go unnoticed. In the Facebook post, Yanet can be seen waving an American flag and being celebrated by students and faculty alike.
