Bad Bunny was the undisputed star of the evening, taking home an impressive 11 awards, including Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Top Latin Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. One of the night’s most heartwarming moments came when the legendary Rita Moreno honored him with the Top Latin Artist of the 21st Century Award and joined him on stage for a salsa dance that had the audience on their feet. “I consider myself a young man who continues to dream, with many goals and things to do,” Bunny shared during his speech.

Karol G continued her winning streak, earning six awards, including Latin Airplay Song of the Year for her global hit “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.” The Colombian superstar also stood out in categories like Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year and Top Latin Rhythm Album for Tropicoqueta. Her vibrant energy and empowering message made her one of the night’s highlights.

Regional Mexican powerhouse Fuerza Regida also dominated, winning five awards, including Regional Mexican Artist of the Year (Duo or Group). Their hit “Tu Boda” featuring Óscar Maydon scored both Regional Mexican Song of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year (Vocal Event), a clear sign of the genre’s unstoppable rise.

Other standout winners included Shakira, who took home three trophies: Tour of the Year, Latin Pop Artist of the Year (Solo), and Latin Pop Song of the Year for “Soltera.” Rising stars Peso Pluma, Netón Vega, and Óscar Maydon also scored big, each collecting two awards and further cementing their status as the new wave of Latin hitmakers

Special recognitions honored legends and innovators: Laura Pausini received the Icon Award for her three-decade career that helped bridge cultures through music; Elvis Crespo was inducted into the Billboard Hall of Fame; and Peso Pluma made history as the first-ever recipient of the Billboard Vanguard Award, celebrating his groundbreaking influence in modern Latin music.

Hosted by Afro-Colombian artist Goyo and Mexican presenter Javier Poza, the show featured an all-star lineup of performances from Danny Ocean, Ozuna, Olga Tañón, Laura Pausini, Beéle, Juan Duque, Peso Pluma, Abraham Mateo, Netón Vega, and more. From Daddy Yankee’s surprise comeback set to Kapo’s electrifying Afrobeats medley, the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards proved once again that Latin music’s rhythm, passion, and creativity continue to lead the global sound.
