Bad Bunny and Ivy Queen: A TBT Concert Moment to Remember Forever

Bad Bunny and Ivy Queen: A TBT Concert Moment to Remember Forever

Bad Bunny & Ivy Queen

One of the most resonant artists on the current Latin scene, Bad Bunny aka ‘El conejo malo,’ began his “World’s Hottest Tour” tour in August. He will be in 15 cities in the United States and 13 Latin American countries. Maybe even Europe. Recently, at a recent concert in Chicago, he gave a huge surprise to the audience.

The singer from Puerto Rico had as a guest performance one of the great exponents of the urban genre: Ivy Queen.

“Chicago, I ask for a loud round of applause and noise for the Queen of reggaeton from Puerto Rico, Ivy Queen!,” shouted Bad Bunny as the crow welcomed Ivy.

The name of the artist who was born in the same land as Bad Bunny is Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodríguez. But, in the music scene, she is best known as “Ivy Queen.” During her appearance in Chicago, she sang “Yo perreo sola” much to the joy of the crowd, who erupted with emotion and applauded her from beginning to end.

To say that she appreciated the gesture from Bad Bunny would be an understatement. Thrilled with the invitation to the Soldier Field concert, she later made a public post on her social media expressing her gratitude for the opportunity and also for the warm welcome.

“I have immense happiness! The affection and respect with which Bad Bunny and his team have received me is so pleasing. They make me feel huge. Thanks again, Benito,” she posted with the singer’s real name, which is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.

But Pesante Rodríguez wouldn’t get off so easily, as made apparent when the rapper was about to say goodbye – he asked the audience: “How many want more from Ivy?”

So Ivy Queen stayed and sang several of her biggest hits. And, obviously, some of Bad Bunny´s hits too.

Bad Bunny´s World’s Hottest Tour

After a series of shows in Puerto Rico, one of the most expected tours of the year officially began on August 5: Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour. In the United States it began in Orlando, Florida and, internationally, will start in Mexico City on December 10.

Over the entire span of the tour, Bad Bunny will light up 15 cities in the United States and 13 countries in Latin America. His tour in part, is an effort to promote his most recent album, “Un Verano Sin Ti.” He will also perform some of his greatest hits from albums such as YHLQMDLG, El último tour del mundo, Las que no iban a salir, Oasis, X Siempre o El conejo malo. Bad Bunny always gives the people what they want.

Bad Bunny has been on a concert tear as of late. In total, the artist will offer 43 concerts this year: 21 in the United States and 22 in Latin America. And just to give an idea of size, each venue boasts a capacity of around 35,000 to 65,000 people. So don’t worry if you missed this round, there will be plenty of more chances to see Bad Bunny in the future. And —who knows— maybe another surprise as big as Ivy Queen’s personality will also be in store for the audience.
