February 2025

Feb. 2 – Grammy Awards: The biggest night in music is here! Beyoncé is leading the charge with 11 nominations, breaking records and further solidifying her legendary status. She wasn’t alone in racking up multiple nominations, with Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone tied for second place with seven nods and Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift tied for third place with six nominations. Get ready for a night of electrifying performances from artists like Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, and Teddy Swims.

Feb. 7 – Critics Choice Awards: This ceremony honors the best in film and TV, and it’s shaping up to be a thrilling competition. Conclave and Wicked lead with 11 nominations each, competing for Best Picture. Karla Sofía Gascón’s role in Emilia Pérez is earning serious praise, along with standout performances from Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) and Demi Moore (The Substance). The Critics Choice Awards are famous for forecasting Oscar winners, so make sure to watch the results to get a preview of next month’s surprises.

Becky G and Carin León lead the pack with 10 nominations each, with Shakira and Myke Towers close behind with nine, and Ángela Aguilar, Emilia, Grupo Frontera and Leonardo Aguilar with eight. This year’s event honors the theme ‘Uniting Generations,’ celebrating the timeless ties in Latin music. Expect performances that bring together traditional and modern Latin sounds. Feb. 22 – Independent Spirit & NAACP Image Awards: A double feature of independent films and Black excellence in entertainment.

Feb. 23 – SAG Awards: The SAG Awards highlight the year’s best performances in film and TV. The ensemble awards are especially exciting, celebrating the collective talent behind incredible stories, in which “Wicked” and ““Shōgun” led among the nominees with five nods each. A Complete Unknown, Anora, Conclave, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked compete on the film side, while for TV, Bridgerton, The Day of the Jackal, The Diplomat, and Slow Horses are all competing against Shōgun in the best-ensemble-in-a-TV-drama category, and Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, and Shrinking will compete for best ensemble in a TV comedy. Jane Fonda will receive the SAG Life Achievement Award for her outstanding career and Kristen Bell is set to host this live-streamed Netflix event. March 2 – Oscars Ceremony: The grand finale of the season! The 97th Academy Awards promise a historic and thrilling evening celebrating the best in film.
