Sanjay’s approach to researching roles is nothing short of entertaining. He shared a funny story about how he once tried to use audio and video equipment to secretly observe his wife’s conversations. However, his plan didn’t go as expected. Sanjay laughed as he recalled,

“I tried to hide a camera in the living room, but my wife found it immediately. She thought it was weird and then she asked me to never do that again.”

Who is Sanjay Rao?

Sanjay Rao’s journey in the entertainment world began in Los Angeles, where he is based. He polished his comedic skills in the city’s comedy scene, performing at well-known venues like The Pack Theater, Second City, and UCB. His talent has also taken him to festivals across the country, including Out of Bounds and The Del Close Marathon.

He has appeared on Amazon Prime and the El Rey Network, with notable roles in series like MAX’s The Flight Attendant and Apple TV’s Truth Be Told. He also starred in Choices, Chances, and Changes and in the upcoming Netflix movie Hit Man, starring Glenn Powell and Adria Arjona.

When Sanjay is not acting or performing stand-up, he enjoys spending his time on activities that keep him active and inspired. He practices martial arts – he is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu -, goes hiking, and loves sharing stories about interesting encounters, like the time he met a real-life astronaut. When talking about love, Sanjay recently married the love of his life, comedian and copywriter Katie Stone. The celebrations had numerous weddings, respecting Rao’s Indian traditions, as well as Katie’s occidental ones.
