Pedro Pascal’s Sister Lux Is Ready for Her Own Spotlight

Lux Pascal is no stranger to the spotlight, but over the past few years, she’s been stepping into it more and more on her own terms. Known for being Pedro Pascal’s sister, Lux has accompanied her brother to several red carpets, including the Gladiator premiere in late 2024 and, recently, the Platino Awards. But beyond being a supportive sibling, Lux is making a name for herself as an actor, artist, and trans activist with a voice that’s honest, powerful, and uniquely her own.
Born on June 4, 1992, in Orange County, California, Lux comes from a Chilean family that was living in exile during the country’s dictatorship. Her parents, both fertility doctors, initially fled to Denmark before settling in the U.S. When Lux was just three years old, the family moved back to Chile. Tragedy struck in 2000 when Lux’s mom, Verónica Pascal, died by suicide. To honor her memory, Lux and Pedro adopted their mother’s last name.

Lux always felt a strong pull toward performing. Growing up, she would recreate movie scenes in her backyard, dreaming of following in the footsteps of stars like Nicole Kidman and Natalie Portman. She studied theater at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and in 2019, she got accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York for a four-year master’s program in acting.
In 2023, Lux graduated from Juilliard and has since appeared in several Chilean productions, including “El Príncipe,” “Héroes Invisibles,” and the popular series “Los 80.” She also had a small role in Netflix’s “Narcos,” where she shared the screen with Pedro.

Her relationship with Pedro is one of genuine admiration and deep sibling love. When Lux came out to him during the pandemic, his reaction was simple and affirming: “Perfect, that’s incredible.” Pedro has since become a vocal ally for the trans community, proudly supporting Lux both publicly and privately. He’s called her “my sister, my heart, our Lux” and often uses his platform to speak out against transphobia. Recently, he publicly clapped back at J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans rhetoric, calling her a “loser.”
Lux responded with pride from the red carpet at the Platino Awards. She said Pedro’s actions align with who he is and what he represents, calling him not just famous, but a role model. “What makes him so amazing is that he shows his full humanity and doesn’t hide who he is. That’s inspiring,” Lux said.

Lux herself has become a strong voice in the trans community. She came out publicly in 2021, appearing on the cover of the Chilean magazine Ya. In that interview, she spoke about her journey and the decision to live openly as a trans woman. “Now I can try,” she said, reflecting on her moment of clarity during the pandemic. Her courage and openness have made her a significant figure in LGBTQ+ visibility in Latin America.
She shares her life with actor José Antonio Raffo, with whom she’s been in a long-distance relationship for over a decade. Even though they live in different countries, their connection remains strong. Both are passionate about acting and have learned to support each other’s careers without always having to work together.

Looking ahead, Lux is about to make her biggest career move yet. On June 13, she’ll star in the Spanish-Argentinian film “Miss Carbón,” which is inspired by the true story of Carlita Rodríguez, the first female coal miner in her area. Directed by Agustina Macri, the movie follows Carlita’s battle to challenge an old superstition that prohibited women from working in mines. Lux takes on the lead role, marking her debut as the central character in a feature film.

Later this year, Lux will also appear in the Chilean film “Guerra de verano,” based on Roberto Bolaño’s novel “El Tercer Reich.” The film, directed by Alicia Scherson, features an international cast and underscores Lux’s growing presence in Latin American cinema.
From small roles to leading films, from quiet dreams to public declarations of identity, Lux Pascal is building a career grounded in authenticity. Her journey may have started alongside her brother, but it’s clear she’s forging her own path with talent, purpose, and wholehearted dedication.
