WeHo Nightclub Workers Collecting Big Tips

In mid-March, all non-essential establishments in LA County were forced to close down – and while many wouldn’t agree, places like The Abbey and Flaming Saddles are not considered essential. Plus, it can get sweaty in there (as we all know) and flying sweat is not helpful in the fight to flatten the curve. Because of the sudden layoffs, a lot of WeHo’s hottest dancers and bartenders are struggling to make ends meet – until now. A new online fundraiser popped up via classy.org called “WeHo’s Nights In” that allows contributions to a fund that will support employees of WeHo’s hot spots. The fundraiser’s goal is to reach $10,000 by next Sunday, and it seems people are already eager to lend a helping hand.

To chip in, users can choose from various donation tiers including $50 to “Buy A Round” and $500 if you want to be an official “Mega Daddy.” If you’re strapped for cash, you can donate $5, which gets you “Just The Tip.” While it may seem corny, this tongue in cheek marketing plan is working, because as of April 12th the fund has raised $8,781 for struggling nightlife workers.
